Another form of instant communication on the Internet is the chatroom. A chatroom gives your visitors the ability to discuss anything they want on your site. This can be a wonderful addition to your website, but it could be a nightmare! If you or someone else does not have to time to monitor what is happening in your chatroom, we strongly recommend against adding one to your website.

If you decide that you would like to give a chatroom a try, there are many options available... many of which add substantially to the initial cost, as well as monthly service charges. A basic "typing" chatroom is relatively inexpensive, however adding voice and/or video can become very costly. The look and features of your chatroom can be simple or extensive, depending on your needs.

As with forums, we strongly suggest you spend time in chatrooms before deciding to put one on your own website. They can take an immense amount of time to administer, and like forums are magnets for unethical people. You must experience them to make a knowledgeable decision.
