One of the more recent additions to methods of communicating on the Internet is the weblog, or blog. If you are not familiar with blogging, it's a pretty simple concept. You have the ability to offer a platform for your visitors to post articles, news releases, public notices, and such. Once a post has been made, other visitors can make comments.

As with forums and chatrooms, if monitored, a blog can be a tremendous addition to your website! If, however, you or one of your people cannot monitor your blog, it may not be a good idea to add one to your site. There is just something about a public soapbox that draws visitors with a need to cause trouble. If you let this sort of behavior exist on your website, it can hurt your image with potential regular visitors.

Depending on your needs, blogs can be simple or very intricate... and with added features comes additional expense.
